In an environment where there’s still a lot of drama over whether Honkai: Star Rail’s buffs are paid or not, we’ve received some very good news.
Novaflares—FREE buffs for older characters—will continue to appear.
It’s worth noting that regarding the famous Ex-Eidolons—the supposed paid buffs—it’s still unclear whether they’ll actually be paid features. But at least we do know that there will be a new category of buffs, and that Novaflares will return—in fact, alongside The Herta, Ruan Mei, and Sunday in the upcoming 5.0 update.
We’ll surely have more news soon about those alleged paid buffs, and of course we’ll share that information right here. If I may offer my opinion, I sincerely hope that something as simple as buffs isn’t used as a new way to make money, but with gacha games, you never know.
