New leaked information has revealed details about Kafka’s potential kit in Zenless Zone Zero, including her abilities, passive effects, combat mechanics, and Mindscapes.
According to the leaked information, Kafka’s gameplay revolves around Electric Arc, a special attack that can bounce between up to three nearby enemies, losing 50% of its damage with each bounce. This mechanic scales with Anomaly Proficiency (AP) and is considered Disorder DMG.
All numerical values mentioned below correspond to the maximum skill level.
Core Passive and Additional Ability
Kafka’s Core Passive grants her an additional 120 Anomaly Proficiency, while using EX Special Attacks generates 10 Personal Resources.
When an enemy affected by an Anomaly attacks, Kafka automatically triggers Electric Arc, dealing damage equivalent to 3% Disorder DMG plus 500% of her Anomaly Proficiency. This effect also generates 3 Personal Resources and has a 10-second cooldown.
Additionally, Kafka provides a 35% Disorder DMG bonus to the entire squad, making her a potentially valuable character for Anomaly-focused compositions.
Her Additional Ability activates when paired with a Support or Anomaly teammate, increasing Shock duration by 3 seconds.
Upon entering combat or when a teammate triggers an Anomaly, Kafka also provides an Anomaly Mastery bonus based on her initial Energy Regen. For every 12% Energy Regen above 120%, she gains 7 Anomaly Mastery, up to a maximum of 140 for 30 seconds.
Basic Attacks and Polarity Disorder
Kafka’s fourth Basic Attack grants invulnerability and triggers Electric Arc when hitting an enemy affected by an Anomaly, dealing 3% Disorder DMG plus 500% of her Anomaly Proficiency.
She also has a charged Basic Attack that consumes 80 Personal Resources to unleash a powerful strike.
If the target is affected by Electric Anomaly, this attack refreshes its duration. However, when hitting enemies affected by other Anomalies, it triggers Polarity Disorder, dealing damage equivalent to 90% of regular Disorder DMG without removing the existing Anomaly.
EX Special Attacks and Kafka’s Domain
One of Kafka’s most distinctive mechanics is her ability to enter Kafka’s Domain through her EX Special Attack.
While inside the Domain, Kafka can perform up to three consecutive EX Slash or EX Shot attacks. She can exit by dodging or when the Domain expires. Leaving without using an EX attack causes her to lose 20 Energy.
Her EX Slash triggers Electric Arc when its final hit strikes an enemy affected by an Anomaly, dealing 7% Disorder DMG plus 1,200% of her Anomaly Proficiency.
Against enemies affected by Electric Anomaly, this attack does not apply a new Anomaly, but Electric Arc ignores 20% of the target’s Electric RES. Players can also hold the attack to execute the final slash early.
Meanwhile, her EX Shot increases Anomaly Buildup by 50% against enemies that are not affected by Electric Anomaly.
Kafka’s Mindscapes
Kafka’s first Mindscape (M1) allows squad Disorder damage to critically hit, with a base CRIT Rate of 100% and CRIT DMG of 25%. Additionally, Electric Arc ignores 12% of enemy Electric RES.
Her second Mindscape (M2) increases Anomaly Buildup by 15% and grants a 25% DMG bonus while inside her Domain. This damage bonus remains active for 8 seconds after leaving it.
Both M3 and M5 increase the levels of all her skills by 2.
At M4, whenever the squad triggers Disorder, Kafka gains 150 Decibels, with a 10-second cooldown.
Finally, her sixth Mindscape (M6) increases the number of EX Special Attacks available per Domain to six. Each use causes subsequent EX Slashes and their Electric Arcs to ignore an additional 15% DEF, up to a maximum of 60%.
Her charged Basic Attack also grants 200 ATK for 30 seconds. Furthermore, after using her Ultimate, her next six EX Special Attacks consume 50% less Energy.
A Potentially Powerful Disorder-Focused Character
Based on these early details, Kafka appears to be designed around Anomaly and Disorder-focused team compositions, combining Electric Arc damage, additional Disorder amplification, resource management, and offensive support for her teammates.
Her ability to extend Shock, trigger additional Disorder-related damage, and provide a squad-wide 35% Disorder DMG bonus could make her an especially interesting option for teams built around multiple Anomaly characters.
As always, remember that all this information is subject to change! See ya!
